Then you will need to see if there is power to the solenoid. With a test light you can check the BIG wire on the starter solenoid.What did you torque the bolt to, some say in the range of 275 lb ft, SoCal has it listed as. Within a few seconds the harmonic balancer bolt has backed itself off. It is on a 2015 Sierra 3500hd with the 6.6L if that changes anything.

This one looks to have broken at the back though, because I can rotate the flywheel about 1" without turning the engine

Once you remove that hub then you can see the cam gear and pin. It might be fine, and your issue is just the hub in front of it. Bad news. I picked up a used crank and took it to a local engine builder along with the main caps and the caps wouldn’t pass inspection. The 3 mains in the middle heated up enough to pull the corners at the seam in .02 so it would be tight enough to not hold a bearing or even scrape the oil off and we’d be right back in the same boat.But a broken crank will have a vibration.
